Eastern Pkwy

Eastern Parkway was the first house Steve and I lived in together.  This is also the first house I renovated/moved into the 21st century.

Here are some pictures and descriptions of what all "we" did.

Exterior Before

Here's what we did:
Fenced in the backyard and stained
Repaired brick on porch
Removed bushes in front
Painted stucco, trim, and porch
New roof
Thank you city of Louisville - brand new nice grass in front and new driveway/sidewalk


Living Room Before

Here's what we did:
Painted the walls
Removed super old and gross carpet
Installed laminate flooring
New light plate switches
Spray painted ceiling fan


Kitchen Before

Painted the room, trim and chalkboard
Installed laminate flooring
Restained the cabinets a mahogony color
Spray painted ceiling fan


Spare Bedroom ("Dewey's Room") Before




*What you're seeing is not beige paint on the wall.  It's dirt.  I know.

Here's what we did:
Ripped up old carpet
Laid new carpet
Painted walls, ceiling, and trim
Fixed water damage on wall/ceiling
Removed tons of ceiling stars
Spray painted ceiling fan


Master Bedroom Before

Unfortunately I never took any before pictures of this bedroom.  But it pretty much was the same as Dewey's room.

Removed old carpet
Installed new carpet
Painted walls and trim
Painted ceiling fan
Fixed closet doors
New hardware on closet doors


Upstairs Bathroom Before



*I had already painted the color at this point.

*the first is while we were still living there.  The paint reads very close on the second and third pictures.




Here's what we did:
Painted wall and trim
Restained the vanity
Built a frame around mirro
Installed new light fixture, hardware, shower head, and toilet "guts"
Installed tile floor

Here's what we did:
Installed laminate flooring
Painted walls and trim
Installed new light fixtures and wire shelves above laundry
New hardware on door

Basement Bathroom Before

*The green is reading very dark, but it's really more of a mint green.  This was by far the biggest project in the house.  The only things that stayed in this room was the toilet, shower surround and some drywall.

Here's what we did:Ripped out the carpeting (who puts carpet in bathrooms?)
Tiled floor
New hardware, vanity, light fixture, mirror, door (water damage), toilet "guts", some trim
Painted walls, trim, door
Removed molded drywall and hung new


Large Basement Bedroom Before
I forgot to take pictures of this one too.  Above the paneling there was an "interesting" stucco pattern that I had to get rid of.  Sanding, sanding, sanding, drywall mudding, sanding, mudding, sanding, priming, mudding, sanding and priming again.

installed closet doors and new hardware
spray painted vent covers
